Our EcoDen Doggy Daycare facility is over 3,000 sq ft and located conveniently

just off Powell Street on the Cordova Diversion. We are on direct routes to

Downtown Vancouver, North Vancouver (via 2nd Narrows Bridge), and

Burnaby/Coquitlam (via Hwy 1).

Putting the Eco in EcoDen

In designing the EcoDen, we wanted to create a fun and educational facility for our doggy friends as well as maintain a commitment to ethical and eco-friendly systems and products. We also wanted to make sure that our facility was part of the community around it by contributing to local causes like BC SPCA, BC Guide Dogs, Tradeworks and various other organizations. Donate to the BC SPCA with our towel/toy/food donation bin or throw your extra pennies in our SPCA jar!

Our facility features reused and recycled furnishings, non toxic paint, efficient lighting and recycled toys/obstacles and toys for our doggy patrons. We have also constructed a system of rainwater collection to decrease our water usages for rinsing muddy paws and cleaning our facility. Our bench in the reception area and cedar boxed out front are made from salvaged pine beetle affected wood and 100 percent of the proceeds go to helping residents of the DTES through the Tradeworks program.

We continue to use recycled paper for our marketing materials and minimize wastage by avoiding printing whenever possible. To keep our facility clean and healthy, we use only non-toxic biodegradable products on all surfaces.

To support local and ethical companies we have done our research in purchasing products for our pet shop. While browsing you are sure to find healthy locally made treats, doggy wear made from recycled materials, and many more of our favourite Canadian made products.

Future planned investments to the facility include an increase in rainwater collection systems to allow for collection of potable drinking water and investment in solar powered pumps for rainwater dispersion is also planned. Our DogPower Wheel, which will allow your pup to burn some energy but will also lower his or her

carbon paw print by generating electricity for the facility is also in the design stages.

If you have any suggestions on how we can make the facility more ethical or eco-friendly please feel free to call or email.

We are currently trying to get Parks Canada on our side to start a dog waste compost in our neighbouring park on Wall Street - if you are in the neighbourhood and would like to help please let us know!
